Placing the Cabinet Configurators

If you screwed up and placed multiple instances, you would see one of the files in the browser having an instance number larger than 1 (such as Base – 3 Dawer-01:2). All of the new files should have an instance of 1 as seen to the right. You can see that Inventor named each of the cabinets after the file name of the new configurator that was created for each. You can rename these browser names as was done with the rooms, but leave the files themselves the way they are.

You can see below, there are five separate Base – 3 Drawer configurators now in the model. They are all in the Reception room because we made that room the active assembly before we started placing. In the browser, notice the ‘-‘ sign next to Reception…

If we click the minus sign, the Reception room assembly will close up, and the cabinets within are no longer visible in the browser…

… which is what we want to see. The cabinets were place within the room they need to be in. Now I will open the room explicitly to constrain the cabinets and configure them as needed. Before doing so, hit save to save all of the new cabinets. To open the Reception room explicitly, just right click it in the browser, and select open from the context menu.
