Inventor Tutorial for the iDoor – 17 – Raised Panel Sketching

Inventor Tutorial iDoor Page Seventeen Image 01 - The last parameter

The last parameter to add to this particular geometry is the Panel_Reveal, and it is applied by selecting the very end of the cyan colored line (when you get a red dot, click to select), and the projected point where this sketch started. Both are highlighted in red on this image for clarity (in practice, only one would be red at a time).

To wrap up the constraints needed for what is drawn so-far, you will need to add a Coincident Constraint between the end of the construction geometry line (shown in image) to the same point at the end of the magenta line used in the last parameter. Once you make the second selection, both points will move in their respective unconstrained directions until they meet, and the sketch will again be fully constrained, and should look like the image below. Save the file.

Next we will use the Three Point Arc tool to add the cove detail. Activate the sketch and get the Three Point Arc tool from the Draw panel. Click the two end points as shown in the image below, then wait until you get a Tangent constraint Glyph to the lower line and click. the arc should be blue, and the sketch fully constrained.
