iLogic Tutorial – 10 – Starting the Front Cutter Profile Sketch

Now for a little reorientation. Click on the XZ Origin plane in the origin folder in the Browser Bar, then on the View Face tool located  at the bottom of the Views toolbar that floats around near the View Cube. You should wind up with something that looks like the image below…

Note that the view cube has the word “Bottom” written upside-down.  Right click on the View Cube and choose “Set Current View as Front” from the menu.

Now turn off the visibility of all sketches except the Cutter Side Profile and dimension visibility of same so that you have something like the image below (albeit not jammed up into the corner so that you can see the view cube)…

Now for the dovetail cutter’s front profile. Get the Create 2D Sketch tool from the Sketch panel, and click on the Cutter Front Plane in the Browser Bar to create a new sketch on that plane. Name the new sketch Cutter Front. Now project the top line onto the new sketch as shown below…
