Inventor Tutorials Galore!

Welcome to the Autodesk Inventor Tutorial page.  This is where you will find all of the free Autodesk Inventor Tutorials written by Mark Randa. There are far more in-depth tutorials and targeted services, as well as free pre-built cabinet configurators in the subscription Cabinet Web Portal, but you can get a good start here. Free Autodesk Inventor Tutorials, Tips & Tricks, and How-to's The Inventor Learning links below are separated by type. Tips & Tricks are brief, to-the-point instructions on how to save time on a task, inform you of a setting you may have been unaware of, etc.  The next group is the How-to’s. The How-to’s are generally a bit more involved than the Tips & Tricks, and can run several pages or more. From there we move on to the Tutorials which are multiple page learning experience. And finally, there are the Series Tutorials which are like normal tutorials, but build upon one-another.

Series Tutorials:

Inventor iDoor Tutorial

Part One

This series tutorial has 30 pages packed with Autodesk Inventor modeling knowledge. It takes you through all of the steps needed to create a basic SmartPart cabinet door. In part one (30 pages), you will learn:

This Series Tutorial has 20 pages, and builds on the completed Part One iDoor Tutorial by adding automatic Blum hinge bores based on specifications found on an online door manufacturer’s website. My idea for this model would be to feed output directly to a door subcontractor. iDrawer Tutorial

These 20 pages of tutorials are not really a series unto themselves, but are more of an addition to the iDoor Series iDoor Series.This 20 page tutorial set is not really a series unto itself, but is more of an addition to the iDoor Series. There is another, set with the entire cabinet as well, but that is located in our Subscription Area where a very in-depth set of tutorials reside that cover Drawings, Cutlists, Machine Output, ERP Integration and more.


Derived Block Library Tutorials

This 13 page tutorial, like the iDrawer Tutorials above, is not really a series unto itself. It is a tutorial that describes the methodology for supplying the profiles for cutters, etc. in a modular way for use in multiple configurators. I haven’t tested this in a good five years so feedback would be appreciated.


Introduction to iLogic Tutorials

These are the tutorials that Autodesk produced way back in 2009 I believe. This set of tutorials introduces you to iLogic and the concept of coding SmartParts and creating configurators.

The tutorial set is a bit dated, but should get one started with iLogic. For far more advanced iLogic as well as downloadable configurator models, you may want to think about subscribing to our Learning Portal.
